C4K Assignments for September

My C4K Assignments for September

So far I have really enjoyed the opportunity I have been giving to do the C4K assignments! The individual assignments have allowed me to interact with students from all over the world. Here are my C4K assignments that I have completed for September!

Students Name: Tyler
Class: Jamie Lynn Martin
Block: 4th Block
Grade: 10th Grade
Subject: English
Class Blog: http://kidblog.org/english4thblock/
Title of Blog: "This I Believe"
Date of Blog: August 30, 2013

Tyler's Blog:
Tyler's blog discussed the automotive industry and its main purpose. In his blog he talked about how the world would not be where it is today without the automotive industry, which is true. Tyler also said that when he gets old enough he would like to work in the automotive industry. Tyler not only talked about his beliefs he also listed a few main points about the automotive industry. As in, he even mentioned that Henry Ford started the assembly line and helped kick off the automotive industry. Another key point he mentioned was that Nicholas Joseph Cugnot built the first automobile with a steam powered engine.

My Comment:
Hello Tyler,
I really enjoyed getting the opportunity to read your blog. I would first like to say very creative and thoughtful post. I also believe that people would be lost without automobiles. In today’s society automobiles are the main source of transportation. However, if you live in a big city you may not have your own automobile and may use public transportation. The society has changed so much since the first automobile was created. Automobiles change all the time in size, shape, color, and effectiveness. Most people rely highly on automobiles to get to and from work. Without them most people could not get from point A to point B. Also, I think it’s very important that we have mechanics. Without mechanics our automobiles would not operate effectively. I know nothing about cars, so I have to rely on a mechanic. I think it’s a wonderful idea that you want to become a mechanic one day! Very nice post!

Neo's Blog:
Neo actually posted a video demonstrating hexagon learning. He created the video using "Vimeo." Each hexagon is connected to another hexagon that might have one thing that matches.

My Comment:
Hey Neo! My name is Amanda Weller and I am a student in EDM 310 at the University of South Alabama. Wonderful video discussing hexagon learning! In all of my years of learning I have never seen hexagon learning used to demonstrate matches. However, I really enjoyed your video demonstration! Your demonstration taught me several pieces of information that I did not know. Great blog post!

Students Name: Morgan
Class: Mrs. Pernille Ripp Madison
Grade: 5th Grade
Title of Blog: "Out of My Mind"
Date of Blog: September 27 2013

Morgan's Blog: In Morgan's blog she talked about "Out of my Mind," a book they are about to start reading in class by Sharon Draper. Mrs. Ripp read to the class the back of the book and the front page, just so the students could get an overview of the story. So far, Morgan has already came across who the main character is. Morgan not only found out who the main character is, she also found out why she is the main character. The main character in the story is Melody. Melody has a photo graphic memory for pictures and videos. One unique thing that Morgan mentioned was that Melody is blind and she is in a wheel chair and she can not talk or write. Melody is also said to be one of the smartest kids in school! Morgan is very eager to begin reading this book.

My Comment:
Hello Morgan! My name is Amanda Weller and I am a student in EDM 310 at the University of South Alabama. I have actually never got the chance to read the book Out of My Mind. However, the book sounds very interesting! The first page in the book provides valuable information! I really hope you enjoy the rest of the story!
